It was an impossible thing for Ludmila, who was full of mistakes, to open the door and enter without permission. However, her pale, bored face clearly showed that it was not just a coincidence.
“M-Ma’am, a c-customer has come,”
Ludmila stammered with a face that seemed like she would burst into tears at any moment. And behind her, a tall man came into view. Yurie, who was taken aback by his unexpected appearance, realized belatedly why she was trembling so much. Ivan seemed to have something stuck on her back.
Just as she was about to shout, Ivan suddenly let go of her back. What appeared in Ludmila’s sight as she screamed and backed away was a thick fountain pen. She realized that what threatened her wasn’t a gun, but a simple pen. Her contemplative face turned immediately towards Caesar. Ivan then spoke behind her, trembling in fear of his mistake of letting in a guest without permission.
“I apologize for startling you.”
With a polite apology and his head bowed, Ludmila was once again surprised and didn’t know what to do. Ivan lifted his head briefly and glanced at Caesar.
“I had something to say.”
“Who, on their own…?”
“We must serve the guest.”
Caesar, who blocked Yurie as she tried to step forward, quickly glanced at Ivan. Yurie, who couldn’t resist the pressure, hesitated and held Ludmila’s trembling shoulders before leaving the office.
With a quiet sound of the door closing, they were left alone. Caesar, dressed in a crisp vest over his usual shirt, casually opened his mouth.
“You’re in luck. Ludmila is excellent at making tea.”
Sitting down on a single sofa, he gestured towards the long sofa next to him. Without a word, Ivan followed and sat on the long sofa. It didn’t take long for Ludmila to come back with the tea. Ivan showed a bitter smile as he saw her much calmer appearance than before.
Ludmila briefly glanced towards him with red and swollen eyes, then walked out of the office without saying a word.
“Morning tea is great for waking up.”
Taking a sip of the tea just as he said, Caesar savored the fragrance and soon had a satisfied expression. He looked at Ivan as if telling him to try it too, but he didn’t move.
He only had a stiff expression as he faced Caesar, not much different from usual. But his eyes were truly fierce. Something was off about him today, starting from when he barged in without any notice or warning. He had a different appearance than usual, although not in an expensive suit, he always had a neat appearance. Today, however, was completely different.
His wrinkled shirt was sticking out over his messy pants, and his coat was carelessly hanging, with the buttons left undone. In addition, he didn’t wear the necessary fur hat when going out. And he clearly didn’t look in the mirror, his hair was messy as if he had just woken up and rushed out. Caesar discovered a large bruise and blood on one side of his face and furrowed his brows slightly. Did he get into a fight overnight? Caesar casually brought up the topic, secretly thinking.
“This tea isn’t very high-end, but if you adjust the temperature and concentration just right, it has an amazing fragrance. Ludmila was the first secretary to perfectly bring out the aroma of this tea like this.”
