As soon as Soo-min returned home, she went straight to her room and collapsed onto her bed. The events of the day had left her exhausted both physically and emotionally. She closed her eyes and tried to calm her racing thoughts.
Earlier that day, she had received a call from her best friend Ji-hye, who had invited her to a gathering with some of their old high school friends. Soo-min had initially been hesitant about going, but Ji-hye’s insistence had eventually worn her down.
At the gathering, Soo-min was greeted with laughter and hugs. It felt like old times, and for a while, she was able to forget about the troubles that had been plaguing her lately. However, as the night wore on, the conversation turned to relationships and marriage, and Soo-min felt a pang of sadness.
All of her friends seemed to be in happy, stable relationships or were already married. Soo-min, on the other hand, had been single for years and often felt like she was falling behind everyone else. The pressure to find someone and settle down was starting to weigh heavily on her.
After leaving the gathering, Soo-min had decided to take a walk and clear her head. She wandered aimlessly through the city streets, lost in her thoughts. It was during this time that she realized how lonely she truly felt.
Now, lying in her room, Soo-min couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by everything. She was tired of putting on a brave face and pretending to be content with her current situation. She wanted more.
Taking a deep breath, Soo-min made a decision. She would no longer let societal expectations dictate her happiness. She would focus on herself and her own goals, regardless of what others thought or said.
With renewed determination, Soo-min sat up and reached for her laptop. She had some research to do, some plans to make. It was time to take control of her own life and forge her own path. And she was ready.
