The Eldest Sister Has Space: Chapter 4: space

Chapter 4: Space

Gu Yunshu’s face suddenly turned red. He tugged at his sister’s hand and comforted Mrs. Yang in a soft voice, “Mother, we’re running out of food, so let’s not eat it today, okay? I’ll go out later and see if there’s anything else we can find.”

There were only a dozen little potatoes left, and they needed to be given to the injured eldest sister and the dying little sister first. Gu Yunshu felt a pang of sadness, and despair even flickered in his eyes. If they couldn’t find more food later, they might really starve to death, and they still had a long journey ahead of them.

Mrs. Yang may not have understood everything, but she understood his words. She licked her lips and stared at the potatoes, but nodded nonetheless. “Then, let’s not eat it.”

Gu Yundong thought to herself, “If she can still eat it, there must be something wrong with her.”

Besides, she hadn’t planned on eating the potatoes in the first place. They had already sprouted and would be poisonous if consumed.

Gu Yundong reached out and took the potatoes back from Gu Yunke’s hand. “Don’t eat these for now. I’ll go outside and see if I can find something else.”

Her strength had recovered. Although her body was still weak, she could at least walk now.

Gu Yundong stood up slowly, surprising Gu Yunshu. He quickly stood up as well and reached out to stop her. “No, eldest sister, you’re not in good health. I can do it, I’ll go look for food.”

“No, you stay,” Gu Yundong said, bypassing him.

“Big sister…” Gu Yunshu called out.

“Stay!” Gu Yundong’s voice became stern. She didn’t have much patience, especially now that her stomach was empty. She felt a little irritable.

Gu Yunshu was taken aback. He had never seen his sister like this before. Her eyes were cold and stubborn. He involuntarily put his hands down, obediently nodded, and watched her leave in a daze.

After she left, Gu Yundong let out a small breath.

She had been an orphan in her previous life and had always had bad luck. The people she encountered, whether it was the head nurse at the orphanage or the teachers at school, treated her poorly or even badly.

That’s why she was a little overwhelmed by the sudden presence of a few relatives who genuinely cared about her.

Now, she felt lucky to be separated from the Gu family. Apart from her younger siblings and the kind-hearted Yang family, there was no one else around. No one suspected that she had actually changed her identity.

Gu Yundong slowly walked to the corner of the house and looked around, but there was no sign of anyone nearby.

Then, she closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and in the next moment, a small bag of rice appeared in her hand.

She laughed, her eyes lighting up slightly.

Just as she expected, her space ability was still intact. The supplies in her space were also present.

She had obtained this space ability shortly after the apocalypse began. It was about the size of an acre of land and had a suspended time inside. Whatever was put in, stayed the same, until it was taken out.

After acquiring this ability, Gu Yundong started collecting supplies. After all, no one knew when the apocalypse would end, and survival would be impossible without resources.

Now, she had plenty of supplies in her space, including rice, flour, and mineral water.

With these resources, what else did she have to fear on their escape journey?

When Gu Dahe hit her head with a stone, she instinctively reached for a dagger in her space to fight back, only to realize that her space was still intact. However, she was momentarily stunned and before she could react, Gu Dahe had already subdued her.

She was determined to exact revenge for this hatred if she ever had the chance.

Gu Yundong took out water and alcohol from her space to disinfect the wound on her head. Thankfully, Gu Dahe wasn’t very strong, and her fainting was mainly due to hunger. The injury wasn’t serious.

Then, she squatted down, took out the small cloth bag she had just obtained, and quietly poured the rice into it.

After some thought, she took out two more bags of pickles and put them in a bamboo tube. Then, she exhaled and walked back into the house.
