EP.14 I Became The Villain The Hero Is Obsessed With
I really liked Stardust. Stardust. The protagonist of the comic [Stardust!]. Why did I like Stardust? Well, of course. She was pretty. Not quite as pretty as in reality, but she was still drawn incredibly beautifully in the comics.
Anyway, isn’t it the sad fate of the creature called a man to instinctively be attracted to pretty women?
I also liked the gap between her normal everyday self and when she was a hero. Normally, she is just an ordinary, slightly aloof girl, but when she’s a hero, she speaks with a distinct awkward tone, saying “You villain! What do you think you’re doing!” Watching her, it was entertaining.
I’m not sure if she spoke like that to separate her everyday life from the extraordinary or to hide her usual way of speaking. Honestly, I think she talks that way because it seems cool…
Out of all, what I liked the most was her unique sense of justice. Since her parents were killed in an incident caused by villains when she was young, she grew up with a desire for revenge and hatred toward villains.
She dreamed of becoming a hero.
But with no superpowers, no abilities.
All she could do was to wish upon the stars.
Please give me the power to awaken.
Please let me take revenge on those villains myself.
Did the stars answer her wish?
Miraculously, she gained superpowers.
With the awakening of her powers, unusually, her hair began to turn golden as if touched by starlight.
The name she chose for herself, Dust of the Star. Stardust.
The association said a hero name with five characters was too long, and shortened it to Stardust.
Anyhow, her hero life, which began with revenge, eventually led her to realize something through various incidents:
A true hero, a hero, is not just about taking down villains but about protecting the citizens.
Thus, she became a true hero.
As a child, I was captivated by her story.
There were certainly other heroes with more impressive storytelling and concepts of justice, but I suspect she became my favorite character because she was Korean. I empathized with her story.
…Why am I babbling on like this?
My favorite character has suddenly appeared before my eyes.
“Egostic!”
“Stardust?”
Oh, my.
What is happening?
In this crowded place.
After accomplishing my goal of eliminating the teleporter, I was about to head home.
I meant to send him off quietly, but I drew too much aggro and got in trouble.
Then suddenly, ta-da! Stardust shows up.
How long have I been here for her to already pop out?
Amidst the crowd, I pitifully watched her suspended in the air, unable to land.
She was sweating profusely, looking like she had hurriedly flown here as soon as she heard I was here. At least she managed to put on her signature red latex suit.
“Egostic, you rascal!”
“Yes, yes. I’m listening.”
[Bro, what are you doing! Hurry up!]
No, Seo Eun-ah, just wait a moment.
My favorite character has literally flown here to see me; I have to hear what she has to say.
It would be too embarrassing and awkward to just poof! disappear in front of all these people gathered here. What would they think of you, Sin Haru!
“You, what have you done. Right now.”
Stardust, looking down at the teleporter lying at my feet, glared at me as she spoke.
The people around us watched with intrigue as if they were eager to see us fight. People, what are you going to do if you get hurt watching? Oh? You’re even taking out your phones and recording videos now? Was that guy filming from before? Isn’t that even more serious…
In front of these citizens unaware of danger, I decided to play along with Stardust a little more.
“What do you mean what did I do? I merely eliminated parasitic villains from society. I filled in for what the heroes should be doing. Like the work that someone like you should be doing. You’re welcome, though. There’s no need to thank me. I didn’t do it to receive gratitude.”
