“Hey, let’s go together!”
As Subin and I slowly followed behind, Seoeun had already bought an ice cream and was holding it.
A white ice cream contained in a cone.
“It’s delicious! Do you want to try some, big brother and big sister?”
Seoeun asked, her eyes sparkling.
Rice ice cream, huh. I’ve heard of it but never actually tried it.
“Sure, let me have some.”
I took the cone that Seoeun offered and took a bite.
Hmm. It’s good.
I thought it would taste like instant rice, but it was more like vanilla than I expected.
“Oh, it’s pretty good. Now Subin, you should try it too.”
“Me? I, uh…”
Suddenly flustered, Subin’s face began to turn red. What’s going on with her?
“You’re not going to try this delicious treat?”
“Come on, sister, give it a taste!”
Pushed by both me and Seoeun, Subin’s face got even redder, and eventually, she lowered her head.
“Yes. Please, hand it to me.”
She stuttered as she reached out her hand.
Why has she reverted back to the extremely timid Subin of the early days?
Was it because I pressured her to eat? Has the nightmare of our first meeting come back to haunt her?
“…uh…this is…indirect…is it just me…feeling weird?”
She mumbled something, but it was so soft that I couldn’t quite catch it. Then, she took a determined bite of the ice cream with her eyes closed. Seriously, who eats ice cream so solemnly?
“Mmm… It’s delicious!”
After a bite, her eyes lit up, and she said it was tasty. See? A bit nutty like vanilla ice cream, so it’s decent enough to eat.
After her bite, Seoeun took back the remainder of the cone and finished it off neatly. She sure enjoys it.

We spent some time wandering around the festival, sampling different ice creams. Perhaps because we tried so many things, it felt like we were spending money like water, but money is there to be spent, so it wasn’t a problem.
Because this festival seems to be a global event, going from country to country, we really saw all sorts of ice creams. Regular flavors like chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mint chocolate, along with brand ice creams like ‘Dad is an Alien’ and ‘Shooting Star’ were everywhere. Besides them, there were other unique flavors that seemed to be one-of-a-kind to this festival.
Wasabi flavor, cold noodle flavor, steak flavor, ramen flavor – some sort of horrifying hybrid ice creams. But the steak flavor was surprisingly good. Maybe this is what a grilled ice cream would taste like? I have no idea what I’m talking about.
And then there were flavors like ‘desk taste,’ ‘booger flavor,’ ‘earwax flavor’ – things that should not exist in this world. Why are they even selling these…?
Of course, we played rock-paper-scissors to decide who had to try the booger flavor. Subin, who lost by throwing rock, teared up as she ate it. After one bite, her complexion rapidly worsened, so we just threw the rest away. Please don’t eat it; leave it to the trash can.
Now, we’re tasting mango ice cream. I don’t understand why we came all this way just to eat mango flavor… Right, Seoeun?
When I asked her reproachfully, she whispered confidently without a hint of embarrassment. Standing on tiptoe and whispering into my ear, she said,
“…Big brother, you have to eat mango flavor because you’re the leader of the Mango Group!”
“Seoeun… Honestly, don’t you think the whole mango thing is getting a bit silly by now? It’s not fun if it’s overdone.”
“No? It’s still fun every time! And no matter how much big brother denies it, the name of your fan club is already the Mango Group.”
Seoeun said that and burst out laughing. Now she really seems to be living just for the fun of teasing me…
Well, as long as you’re happy, Seoeun.
As we walked and looked around, we eventually came to the event corner.
They had collaboration ice creams like Frankenstein flavor, Mickey MaX flavor, and so on.
Over there, they have egoistic flavor too…
Hmm?
Wait, what flavor ice cream?
“Come and try the one and only egoistic flavor ice cream here!”
A woman was loudly attracting customers inside the booth.
What is that.
This is a breach of my image rights!
“Big brother, pfft, you even have your own ice cream. Puhaha!”
Seoeun was beaming with laughter.
