EP.27 Her Determination
“Unnie… should I just carry it?”
“No! It’s mine, I’ll carry it, I can do this.”
Shin Haru watched anxiously as her senior precariously balanced the towering 10-scoop ice cream cone.
It looks like it’s going to spill.
And her prediction was not wrong.
Inevitably, the ice cream cone lost its balance and began to topple.
“Uhhhh… no!”
Along with Chae Hyun unnie’s scream, the ice cream fell towards the man next to her.
It seemed the ice cream would surely stain the man next to her, yet an unexpected turn of events unfolded.
“Whaaat!”
Simultaneously with the ice cream falling, the man dodged it by rolling away.
It was a tremendous display of reflexes. It was unclear why he had to roll, but…
“Oppa!”
“Dain-ssi!”
The two women standing next to the man rushed over to him hastily.
So his name was Dain.
Despite being covered in dust, the man got up nonchalantly, brushing off his clothes as if nothing had happened.
“Ah, it’s okay. No problem.”
His expression was calm, but his clothes were definitely not.
His body was dust-ridden.
“Aigoo… Are you okay? I’m so sorry. It’s my fault, I was clumsy… sob.”
Chae Hyun unnie approached him tearfully. Shin Haru, also part of their group, was flustered but approached him as well.
As they closed in, the man chuckled and smiled.
“It’s okay. Everyone makes mistakes every now and then. Maybe I overreacted a bit. Haha, I should’ve just moved slightly to the side.”
“But, still…”
“It’s okay, really.”
Instead, the man was comforting her as she began to cry, which was a peculiar situation. Shin Haru felt a sense of unnecessary guilt. If she had intervened and caught it, none of this would have happened.
She was relieved that the accident involved a genuinely kind man. Had it been just any ordinary person, they would have likely erupted in anger, yet he was so calmly brushing it off.
…Well, only he was calm. The two women nearby seemed quite agitated. In fact, their reaction was more normal. It was unusual for someone to let it go with such ease.
“Should we go, Seo Eun-ah?”
Without any demand for compensation, the man seemed ready to leave with his group. It almost seemed as if he was in a hurry…
However, this was not something Chae Hyun unnie would just let pass by. Just as she reached out to offer some sort of compensation.
Bang-.
A loud explosion sounded.
“Kyaahhhhhh!”
Screams erupted from all around.
Although Shin Haru was an ordinary college student, she was also the hero Stardust.
Her judgement was quick.
A terror attack.
Most likely, a villain’s terror attack.
Bang-. Bang-.
The earth-shattering noises continued.
Her judgement was quick, and her actions quicker.
First, she needed to evacuate Chae Hyun unnie.
“Unnie, follow me!”
“Huh? Wha…?”
In the midst of chaos and sudden disarray, Haru grabbed the bewildered unnie’s hand and dashed away from the source of the sounds.
Since she had partially unleashed her Stardust powers, she was able to run away faster than the others.
Of course, Chae Hyun, being dragged by the hand, was not having a good time.
“Kyaahhhhhh!”
Among the crowd fleeing in the opposite direction, they too made their escape.
Then, a sound echoed from afar.
Despite the distance, the tremendous roar could still be heard.
“STARDUST!!!!! COME OUT, STARDUST!!!!!!!”
Suddenly, Haru’s footsteps faltered.
Kim Chae Hyun, already half out of her wits from being pulled along, didn’t notice the brief stiffening of Haru’s body.
Of course, after a slight hesitation, she quickly started running again, but her inner turmoil was total chaos.
What’s happening? Why are they calling me out all of a sudden?
However, at the moment, she decided to put everything aside and ensure Chae Hyun unnie was taken to safety first.
“Huff…”
