EP.7 Mental Training
South Korea has a very low percentage of psychics, or superhumans.
Even fewer are those with dual abilities.
My powers, telekinesis and teleportation.
Considering that I possess two major-level abilities at the same time, I could also be termed as being born with a silver spoon in terms of psychic powers.
…How nice it would be if that were true.
Unfortunately, my abilities seem closer to a gold-plated spoon rather than pure gold.
And there’s one reason for that. My powers are faulty.
Take my teleportation, for example. If I teleport 1 km, the fatigue that I would normally feel after sprinting at full speed over that same distance hits all at once.
Having tested a long-distance jump just yesterday, I can affirm the flaws are quite evident by the fact that I ended up resting for the entire day.
When I compare myself with Teleporter, one of the villains in the original work who also has the ability to teleport, he faces no restrictions.
He can appear in the east and then the west in the blink of an eye, quite literally.
Similarly, my telekinetic ability also has significant flaws.
Imagine a crane game’s weak claw?
Subduing a person who is violently resisting is absolutely impossible, though I can manage to levitate objects, just like my smartphone that I’m now floating in the air.
Of course, it’s hard to keep things in place, but attacking is easier than that. You know how even if the claw doesn’t pick up prizes, it can still move them around pretty well.
The only advantage might be that it works like a sort of charging attack. If I gather strength for a long time and then release it at once, it can actually deal some damage. I’ve combined this with teleportation to smash the skulls of various villains I encountered.
But with all these benefits, the fact remains that my abilities are full of flaws.
Yet, despite everything.
Despite all that.
Given just one gun, the power to take care of those small-fry would be…
More than sufficient.
“W-What are you doing!”
Inside a building filled with the screams of hostages.
To the clearly panicked voice of one of the men, I simply replied,
“When someone’s acting crazy, they obviously need to be taught a lesson, don’t they?”
And with that, I fired my gun towards the man who had just spoken.
The distance between him and me was quite vast, yet the bullet unfalteringly homed in on his forehead.
It didn’t seem to be a bulletproof mask seeing as how he collapsed to the floor.
The unshakable shot. Egos Bullet.
Of course, it was only possible because I had pre-aligned the bullet’s trajectory with my telekinesis, but well, that’s part of my ‘abilities,’ right?
Phew, I’m so relieved to have this weak telekinesis.
Without it, I, who have only ever shot guns in the military, would never have been able to hit anyone this precisely.
Only after three had fallen did the remaining ones finally begin to point their guns at me.
Wait, aren’t they supposed to be my followers? Why are they aiming at me? Ridiculous.
In this intense, nail-biting situation, I casually glanced at my smartphone, still floating mid-air and streaming smoothly.
