EP.8 Unprecedented Event
300 people.
The number 300, that’s about the size of an entire high school student population. The fact that so many people are gathered in one place means a lot. It suggests either the space is large enough for them or they are huddled close together. In this case, it’s probably both. These 300 individuals are packed tightly in a wide-open space.
But with such a large crowd all together, not a single person is speaking. Does that mean it’s quiet? No, not at all. Right now, because of one woman in front of me crying her heart out.
“Sob sob sob, waaail, sob sob sob sob.”
Please, just stop crying.
[Wow, she really is crying miserably lol lol lol]
[Seven of her allies were brutally killed, of course she has reasons to cry lol]
[This one’s about to go soon too, right? What a shame, she’s pretty.]
[Crazy, you guys. Don’t you see the hostages shaking,,, this isn’t, a movie.]
[As long as it’s not me, I’m fine~~~]
[Looking at it, doesn’t seem like they will kill all the hostages?]
[I’m worried about the woman crying so miserablyㅜㅜ]
[No way, that woman is a terrorist too, you maniacs lol]
[This is way more entertaining than network TV. Live viewing is awesome lol real talk lol]
Glancing at the chat to get a sense of the mood, I realized there’s no longer a need to look. I’m feeling dizzy…
“Sob sob sob sob.”
This woman is more trouble right now.
What should I do, it’s so loud.
Should I just kill her?
No, I should at least give a warning. I am a gentleman after all.
I crouched down to pick up the pistol the woman had dropped.
As I stayed low, I caught her eyes.
Smiling kindly at her as she hiccuped, I said one thing gently,
“If you keep crying, I’ll shoot, okay?”
I made a playful gesture with the pistol as if firing a shot, and she freaked out, struggling to stop her tears.
… Can shoving one’s fist in their mouth really stop someone from crying? I’m not sure about that.
But anyway, it got quieter.
While hearing her hiccup in the background, I stood in front of the hostages.
The sight of 300 people crouched down and looking up at me was quite something.
Most of them had terror-stricken eyes.
Why so scared… then I remembered, I had just killed seven people in front of them.
How often does a person witness someone getting shot and bleeding out in real life?
Uh, maybe these people have seen it quite often?
This is Seoul.
The third-largest economic city in Asia and a city frequently hit by terrorism.
It’s fitting for the capital of South Korea, where both heroes and villains, and an unusually high number of super-powered individuals, are plentiful.
Anyway, to the anxious people,
I spoke out loud.
“Hello, everyone. I am the A-class villain Egotistic. Nice to meet you.”
I used psychokinesis to amplify my voice so that everyone could hear me.
As my introduction ended, the mood grew colder. Everyone looked uneasy. Why? I won’t hurt you.
[Is this the part where he tells them ‘now start killing each other’? Haha wow wow]
Looking at the chat, I can see why they’re acting this way.
What do they take me for? I’m not that kind of psychopath.
…Although I think about that time on the boats when I said only those who kill first will survive. Sigh, yes, it’s all my fault.
To the trembling people, I said,
“Firstly, I want to apologize to everyone here. I’m sorry.”
With those words, I bowed deeply at a 90-degree angle.
…Really. I used psychokinesis to bow at a perfect right angle.
