Life is Great with sub-space: Chapter -13 Part 3

“Eat some chicken breast.”
“I don’t want to…but, this looks tasty, right?”
Woojin took out a burner he brought from home.
He took out a butane gas cylinder he bought at the mart and connected it, then placed a pot on it.
Once the water boils, he lightly blanches the chicken.
Blanching it once makes the broth cleaner and the seasoning more flavorful.
He separates the blanched water into a separate container and waits for fresh water to boil.
During that time, he needs to prepare the vegetables.
“Should we add potatoes and sweet potatoes?”
Woojin peeled the skin off the potatoes and sweet potatoes with a peeler.
Then he placed them on a cutting board and cut the potatoes and sweet potatoes exactly in half.
He also cut the green onions, onions, and green chili peppers into bite-sized pieces, and crushed peeled garlic into minced garlic using the end of a knife handle.
When the vegetables were finished being prepared, the water was boiling.
He put the blanched chicken in the pot, then added the gochujang, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes he had purchased from the mart according to the recipe, and stirred it with a ladle.
This is the process of dissolving the clumped gochujang.
Once it boils a little more, he adds the minced garlic and at the same time, throws in the potatoes and sweet potatoes.
Because potatoes and sweet potatoes take a bit longer to cook, they are added before the other vegetables.
“Oh, it smells delicious.”
Kan came over to the pot and sniffed.
“Can I taste the broth?”
“Is that okay?”
“Just wait.”
Woojin gave Kan a taste of the broth using a disposable spoon.
After tasting the broth, Kan smacked his lips and nodded.
“Hmm, it smells good, but it’s bland.”
Woojin also tasted the broth with the ladle.
As Kan said, the broth was overall bland.
He added sugar to give it a sweet taste and salt to give it a savory taste.
“Try it again.”
He poured the broth along the ladle into the disposable spoon and handed it to Kan again.
After tasting the broth, Kan raised his thumb.
“This is absolutely the best….”
“Really?”
Woojin also took a sip of the broth.
As Kan said, the seasoning of the broth was very good.
Now, he waited for the potatoes and sweet potatoes to cook partially, and then added the sliced onions and green chili peppers.
He boiled it for about 10 minutes, and finally added green onions and boiled it for another 20 minutes on medium heat.
“It’s done.”
Woojin brought a large plate and served Kan some chicken stew.
Seeing Kan enjoying the broth, he thought that this chicken stew wouldn’t disappoint.
As expected, Kan ate the chicken stew as if he was stuffing it into his mouth.
It was amazing how he chewed and swallowed the bones without any hesitation, even though they must have been very tough due to cooking the chicken.
“…Eat slowly.”
Woojin adjusted the camera to only capture the food, then picked up a chicken leg with chopsticks.
He slightly cooled it down because it was hot, then took a big bite.
The chewy and tender texture was very delicious.
After leaving only the bones from the chicken leg in no time, Woojin tasted the sweet potato this time.
The combination of sweet potato and chicken stew was successful.
Chewing on the lukewarm sweet potato and taking a spoonful of broth, it couldn’t be more delicious than this.
“Give me more!”
Oh no.
Because Kan interrupted, this part will need to be edited.
Woojin paused his meal and took the plate Kan extended.
“You finished already?”
“Yeah!”
I gave him quite a lot, how much can that young body fit?
It’s a good thing I prepared a lot of chicken.
Woojin filled the chicken stew and sent Kan aside.
Then he focused on finishing his meal.
Even though he boiled a substantial amount, the extra ingredients quickly diminished, and now there was only a little broth left with some vegetables.
He added 4 packs of instant noodles he bought at the mart and let it boil again.
After about 3 minutes, the instant noodles were cooked perfectly.
He first served the well-cooked noodles and broth to Kan’s plate, and Woojin enjoyed the remaining 2 servings of instant noodles.

It was late at night.
Kan asked Woojin to set up the tent and reverted back to being a cat.
“Aren’t you cold?”
The thermometer Woojin was holding indicated 2 degrees Celsius.
“Of course not. I’m a cat, you know? I have a body that can endure even extremely cold weather!”
Even though it was quite cold, Kan nonchalantly went into the tent.
“Got it. If anything happens around here, wake me up immediately.”
“Okay!”
“Okay.”
