Taming the Obsessive Attachment: Chapter 28 Part 1

As the alcohol wore off, so did my stupor, and with a sense of clarity, Kwon Jae-jin sighed in realization upon seeing his restrained arms.
“…I’ve caused trouble.”
Handcuffs adorned both his wrists.
To prevent injury, they were lined with soft leather, and chains of pure silver trailed long from them. The chains meandered across the bed and ended at the bedroom wall, where they were securely fastened with a solid peg. A rattling noise ensued when he pulled his arms.
“Ha. They even gagged me.”
The restraints weren’t just on his hands. Apparently to prevent him from biting his tongue, Kwon Jae-jin’s mouth was blocked. A rod had been placed between his upper and lower teeth, and a leather strap wrapped around his head was securing it into place.
“It’s impossible to clear up misunderstandings without talking… Fuck.”
Seo Uiwoo had heartlessly restrained him without even listening to his explanation, even after Kwon Jae-jin insisted there were important things he needed to say, to explain. From Seo Uiwoo’s perspective, it probably looked like Kwon Jae-jin had suddenly set a fire and protested not to erase memories. And he probably saw Kwon Jae-jin attempting to fall from the rooftop railing… It made sense for Seo Uiwoo to be upset.
“Couldn’t he at least listen to my side of the story? Doesn’t he think there’s a reason for my actions? Besides, setting a fire, well… we were going to move out anyway, might as well burn the house down, what the hell…”
I wonder if he’d believe it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing I did while drunk.
Somehow, at that time, it felt like seeing Seo Uiwoo’s face would solve everything. Without considering the full context, he wanted to call him out, to meet him face to face for a conversation.
Maybe he just wanted to see Seo Uiwoo that bad at the moment. It had been six days of not seeing him. He was anxious… He couldn’t just sit and wait alone in this big house until Seo Uiwoo completed his mission and came back.
“In the end, I’m restrained in handcuffs again in my second life…”
At least the good news was that Kwon Jae-jin still had his memory intact. However, there was always the risk that Seo Uiwoo could erase it if he changed his mind. He had to persuade Seo Uiwoo before such an unfortunate event could unroll.
“Ha… Did it really have to get this complicated? I thought my second life was going to be easy mode, but here I am, still on hard mode. What a difficult adjustment.”
Jae-jin sighed internally and slumped his shoulders, draining the strength from his body and lying flat on the bed. It seemed like a crucial moment was upon him. How he responded upon Seo Uiwoo’s return would drastically determine his destiny.
Kwon Jae-jin sat and contemplated various strategies while waiting for Seo Uiwoo. He stared blankly at the ceiling before looking down at himself, clothed in garments scorched by fire and soaked by water.
His body felt chilly and cold.
The heat from the alcohol must have masked the feeling initially, but as he sobered up, the creeping cold became apparent. Considering he had been standing in the autumn sea breeze while wet, it wouldn’t be surprising if he caught a cold.
“My goodness, one thing after another…”
Jae-jin fumbled with his bound wrists, causing the silver chains to jingle. Eventually, after some time had passed, sparks of light flashed in the air, and Seo Uiwoo appeared, heading straight to this location from the sterile transport chamber. He swung the bedroom door wide open without delay.
“You’re later than I thought. Were you waiting well?”
Seo Uiwoo must have had his share of problems to handle, as he still looked worn and wounded. Now that he could see him closer, Seo Uiwoo’s clothes were quite damaged. There were signs the combat uniform had been torn across the chest, and the back was ripped to shreds.
Above the ripped collar, the long line of Seo Uiwoo’s neck was visible, and there was a large wound stretching from his neck to his ear—so severe that his ear could have been lost—but it seemed that a healing factor had been applied since new flesh was slowly regenerating.
He gave a quick, bland smile as he sat down on the edge of the bed, spreading his long legs in a relaxed posture to catch his breath. It looked like he needed a moment of respite. Seo Uiwoo too seemed quite exhausted.
“I was preoccupied and forgot to set up a catheter for Mr. Kwon Jae-jin before leaving. Did you want to use the restroom?”
Slowly, Jae-jin shook his head.
“That’s good to hear.”

He regressed to the first day of confinement. 4 years ago, Kwon Jae-jin, an ordinary person, appeared as the only guide for the S-class esper Seo Eui-woo. Seo Eui-woo kidnapped him and demanded that he be guided without consent. “Shall we check now? I wonder if you are a guide that matches me or not.” “Hurts, it hurts, ah, ngh! Ugh…… Stop……!” “See, you can do guiding on me…….” Seo Eui-woo’s crazy behavior, which seemed ruthless at first glance, had a good reason, and after 4 years that felt like war, Jae-jin eventually understood and accepted Seo Eui-woo. Not only that, he was taken in by Seo Eui-woo’s persistent love offensive and their relationship developed romantically! They lived happily ever after……! ……It would’ve been great if it had ended with such a happy ending. One sunny day, a gate in the yard burst, and Kwon Jae-jin got caught in it. He died with his limbs torn to pieces. BAD ENDING. That was the story of Kwon Jae-jin’s first life before returning to this point.
