Seo Ui-woo smirked slightly and used his ability to levitate his body. Kwon Jae-jin, hanging listlessly from the ceiling, was calmly observed by Seo Ui-woo, who had leisurely ascended to meet his eye level.
Kwon Jae-jin appeared to be soaked in sweat from the strenuous effort of climbing up the window frame. His thick black hair was damp, his breath was ragged, and his face was flushed. He looked like he would be in big trouble if Seo Ui-woo did not reach out to touch him right away.
“I’ve explained everything without missing a beat. You’re a mutant, Jae-jin, and my guide. You have to guide me from here on out.”
“You expect me to just accept that? Right now? As if I’m screwed? Shit, really.. I’m leaving. I can’t do this goddamn guiding anymore.”
“Goddamn…? What on earth about that didn’t sit well with you, Jae-jin…? I, I liked it so much. It was really great. And still is…”
Seo Ui-woo reached out and placed his hand on Kwon Jae-jin’s forehead. He wiped away the sweat droplets with his fingertips and pinched his reddened face. Though Kwon Jae-jin seemed to detest the contact with Ui-woo as if it were repulsive, being suspended from the ceiling, he could not shake him off. If he lost strength in his hands, he would immediately fall down.
“Jae-jin, you’re a guide. Guiding is a guide’s duty. Even you should know that much.”
“Urgh, damn…”
Kwon Jae-jin moved his arms to descend back to the ground via the window frame. His taut muscles creaked dangerously. Jae-jin looked to be on the verge of falling as he slowly shifted towards the wall. In stark contrast, Seo Ui-woo flew through the air with such ease, trailing right behind Jae-jin.
“Or do you not care about your one and only life? Do you have a reason to return to Residential District 6 even if you have to die for it?”
Seo Ui-woo stroked Kwon Jae-jin’s cheek. Jae-jin clenched his teeth and, too busy focusing, couldn’t shake off the annoying touch and just had to endure. Seeing that Jae-jin was unable to avoid him, Seo Ui-woo became bolder with his hands. He reached around from behind and slipped his wrist under the shirt, pushing up into it.
While tracing the rapidly moving abs with urgency, Seo Ui-woo looked down with a sense of tight satisfaction, his grey eyes fluttering capriciously.
“If you really must go back, even risking death… then I have no choice but to tie you down, Kwon Jae-jin. Cuffs, are cuffs okay?”
“You, you’re insane.”
“I’ll tie you to the bed with a gag in your mouth while I go on missions. When I return, I’ll just feed you and take you to the bathroom, right? Don’t worry, I’ll set up a catheter first.”
At these words, Kwon Jae-jin momentarily lost his concentration. His hand slipped from the window frame, and his body fell from the ceiling.
“Oh, dear.”
As Kwon Jae-jin dropped, Seo Ui-woo caught his waist and they rose together.
Jae-jin, who narrowly avoided a severe fall to the floor, opened his eyes wide and calmed his startled heart. Seo Ui-woo tenderly caressed the breathless man, sliding his palm deep into his shirt and stroking Kwon Jae-jin’s side.
“It’s okay, I caught you. But it’s dangerous, so don’t climb up there next time. Anyway, you can’t open that window, Jae-jin.”
“Huff, huff…”
“So, what’s your answer? How about the cuffs? Not a fan?”
Kwon Jae-jin looked at Seo Ui-woo with a pale face as if he had seen a ghost. The emotion in his dark eyes that resembled the darkness was a mix of hatred, frustration, a sense of injustice, and the fear one feels when confronting a madman who makes no sense.
Barely composed, Jae-jin grabbed Seo Ui-woo by the scruff and stammered.
“I, I can’t trust you, Seo Ui-woo. You’re not in your right mind. All this talk of cuffs and whatnot, how can you expect me to trust you? How would I know if ‘mutant guide’ isn’t just another lie you’re spinning?”
“What…?”
“I’m getting out of this place to ask someone else or I’ll go to the center and ask for help directly. I can’t believe a word you say.”
“No, Jae-jin… I’m serious. If we get caught, we will be shot, you know…?”
“Even if! Even if that is true.”
