Chapter 6 – Breaking Dawn, Crying Infant
Qin Liu Xi was angry.
To be honest, as a reincarnator, she didn’t have much emotional attachment to the Qin family. When she traveled back in time, she was just a five-year-old who had just been sent back to the old house to be fostered. She grew up on her own.
Although she had a karmic relationship with the Qin family because she occupied her original body, in terms of intimacy and value, the Qin family was really not as important to her as the Qi Huang and Chen Pi siblings who were by her side.
At this moment, Qin Grandma didn’t believe her and was stopping her from saving someone, which really annoyed Qin Liu Xi.
“Grandma, are you sure you want to stop me? If we delay any longer, she will have a tragic ending.” Qin Liu Xi pointed coldly at the person on the delivery bed.
“Mother, Third Sister is not doing well.” Qin Mei Niang’s voice trembled with tears.
Everyone was shocked and turned to look.
They saw Gu Shi without any color in her face, her eyes tightly closed, and the movement of her chest had become weak and slow, barely visible.
In this state, even if they invited a doctor, it was unlikely to arrive in time.
Qin Grandma’s face turned pale and she took a step back, tears streaming down her face.
“Grandma, let Miss Shi needle her. If we delay any longer, it will truly be too late.” Even the experienced midwife spoke, with trepidation in her voice. Although she had seen many instances of life and death, this time it involved three lives, and if they were lost, it would be a great sin.
As a midwife, of course she wanted to see mother and child safe. It would be good for her reputation.
Wang Shi pursed her lips and advised, “Mother, it seems we have no choice.”
They had to try everything, even if it was a desperate measure.
Qin Grandma closed her eyes, turned her face away, and nodded heavily.
Whether it was a blessing or a disaster, they could only rely on fate.
Qi Huang had already lit an incense, calming everyone’s hearts. She then dissolved the talisman paper prepared by Qin Liu Xi into warm water, and came to the bedside.
Seeing that they were finally willing to compromise, Qin Liu Xi snorted and indifferently took the gold needle, directly piercing it into Qin San Tai Tai’s acupoint.
There were two shocked exclamations.
Qin Liu Xi turned her head and glared coldly, annoyed by the noise.
Qin Grandma’s face also turned white with shock, her hands trembling.
Gu Shi woke up with a low moan. Her pupils slowly focused, but there was despair in her eyes.
“Drink this.” Qin Liu Xi took the cup of talisman water from Qi Huang’s hand and brought it to Gu Shi’s lips.
Her voice was icy, like a cold spring entering the ears. Gu Shi instinctively opened her mouth and drank the entire cup of water, stunning everyone present.
Qin Liu Xi then took several more gold needles and pierced them into various acupoints on Gu Shi’s body. She struck precisely and swiftly.
“Be strong. If Third Uncle receives news of your safety, he will be comforted on his exile journey. But if it becomes a tragedy with three lives lost, I’m afraid he won’t survive either. If your sister loses her parents at a young age, how miserable will her life be?” Qin Liu Xi’s words were poisonous and merciless, hitting Gu Shi’s heart like a strong needle and making her shed tears. She felt her body fill with strength.
She couldn’t die. She had to live, together with her children.
“Midwife, come here.” Qin Liu Xi glanced at the midwife and herself continued to prick the acupoints while chanting an unknown incantation.
The midwife sighed and instructed Gu Shi a few times, pushing her belly.
This scene fell into the eyes of Qin Grandma and everyone else, and they looked at Qin Liu Xi as if they were looking at a monster, full of inexplicable fear.
This girl in front of them seemed to be different from other girls.
Dawn broke and the baby cried.
