Absolute Regression: Chapter 6 Part 1

The 6th time I become a celestial horse.
I woke up early in the morning and packed my things before speaking to my father.
“You should go back.”
“Where are you going? If you’re going out as a celestial horse, you should catch a tiger.”
Why would I do that? It means that the time we spent together was not bad.
“Fortunately.”
“What?”
“I also prepared for the second day.”
“Stop talking nonsense and take the lead.”
“Yes.”
My father and I went deeper into the forest.
How long did we walk like that?
My father spoke to me again.
“Close your eyes again.”
“Yes.”
“The goal is one hundred steps beyond Wuhyeon.”
It was farther than last time.
“This time, feel the wind.”
“I feel it.”
Once again, he said something I had never heard in my entire life.
“Let your energy be carried by the wind.”
Since I learned martial arts, I have never thought about letting my energy be carried by the wind. No one has ever told me that. It is not written in any martial arts book.
The thrill of learning something new rushed through my body.
Of course, knowing something and putting it into practice are two different things.
“First, release your energy.”
I cautiously released my energy, just like when I was searching for a wild boar yesterday.
“If you are this late and cautious, you will only learn trapping skills. To use it in real combat, you need to quickly extend your energy to the end.”
But it was not easy to let the wind carry my energy. I could feel the wind and I could feel the energy. But how could I combine these separate things?
Moreover, the wind my father was referring to did not mean a strong wind. He was referring to the flow of air around us. I had to find the air flowing head-on and let my energy be carried by it.
Even though I struggled for a long time, my father did not say anything. He did not rush me either. He just stood there, looking at the distant mountain with a puzzled expression.
Why do people judge someone’s life from behind? I was supposed to feel the strength of an absolute being from my father’s back, but I felt loneliness and solitude instead.
“That’s good.”
“What?”
In an instant, the energy I emitted was cut off one hundred steps beyond Wuhyeon.
“What! When did my energy reach that far?”
I must have unknowingly let my energy be carried by the wind. Since I had gained a lot of experience in my previous life, I could easily accomplish difficult tasks.
“I didn’t even know I could do that.”
My father stared at me with a slightly enraged look. Whether it was a coincidence or luck, it couldn’t be such an easy task.
Soon, my father seemingly uninterestedly said.
“It doesn’t matter. That guy has already run away anyway.”
As the sun slowly set, we encountered the one we had missed earlier.
“It’s that guy!”
Perhaps because it was my father’s words, I couldn’t understand. I couldn’t even see it with my own eyes. My father, who accurately grasped the size and energy of that distant object, was truly astonishing.
“It’s one hundred and fifty steps beyond. Find it by letting the wind carry you.”
Once again, I tried to release my energy and let it be carried by the wind.
Based on the fact that I had succeeded easily before, it wasn’t that difficult for me at my level. It was ultimately a matter of mindset.
I tried this and that.
Then I suddenly realized.
I had been trying to attach my energy to the wind. That was the problem. The deliberate act of attaching.
I sent out my energy along with the wind. It was like walking alongside a friend, intertwining with the wind in a playful manner.
In this way, my energy that was separate from the wind flew and, before I knew it, it began to intertwine with the wind like two dragons weaving around each other.
“Ah! This is it!”
I realized that letting my energy be carried by the wind was not the feeling of riding a horse, but the feeling of intertwining with each other like this.
Sssssss.
My energy carried by the wind arrived at one hundred and fifty steps beyond in an instant.
As I confirmed what it was, the fierce roar of a tiger erupted from far away. At that moment, I was startled and my extended energy was abruptly cut off.
“It really was a tiger!”
I was surprised by the tiger, and my father was surprised at me.
