EP.18 Hero
A train speeding forward at a rapid pace.
What would happen if a person were to be hit squarely by such a train?
Most would think the same thing.
The person would shatter into pieces.
Such thinking is common sense.
In that regard, when you see someone leap towards an oncoming train, what are your thoughts?
Other than thinking, ‘People these days resort to all kinds of methods to commit suicide,’ nothing else really comes to mind.
The scene I’m witnessing now is just like that.
A delicate woman is running straight towards the speeding train.
But I have faith.
Faith that she won’t be shattered into pieces.
However, now’s not the time to be talking about faith.
Now is the time to exaggerate a little.
Watching the scene unfold, I made a fuss.
“No!!! Is this really okay? She’s going to be smashed to smithereens!!!!”
[Has Stardust finally gone mad???]
[I mean, even if Stardust is an A-rank hero, can she really survive that?]
[ㄴㄴ With Stardust’s strength, I doubt she could withstand that. According to the data released by the Hero Association, she can’t endure an impact greater than the train collision]
[Then what’s going to happen?]
[It’s like choosing between one death or five, and ending up with six dead.]
“No! Ms. Stardust! Why are you going to commit suicide!! Stop!!!”
However much I might scream from the top of a cliff, there’s no way it could reach Stardust.
I could only despairingly watch as Stardust charged towards the train.
The chat room began to light up with comments.
[This guy is actually freaking out when meeting madness lolwww]
[He definitely staged this dilemma and yet he commits suicideㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ]
[MangoStick, why have you suddenly frozen over?]
[IceMango has become realitywwwwwww]
[EgoStick needs an upgrade to S-rank villain status]
[For real, without doing anything, removing an A-rank hero?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ]
[Are you nuts? If Stardust dies, we’re all screwed; this is not the time to laugh!!]
[Isn’t Stardust responsible for Seoul? I don’t live in Seoul, so it’s no concern to meㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ]
[Really, as long as it’s not me, it’s fiiiiineㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ]
“This is… not what I intended…”
I muttered to myself bitterly.
More precisely, I pretend to mutter bitterly.
As if I didn’t intend it. Of course, I did.
Considering Stardust’s righteous nature, she would never allow the sacrifice of another.
She’d rather sacrifice herself instead.
Stardust. Shin Haru.
In the original work, Shin Haru faces many trials.
All kinds of outlandish villains try everything to send Stardust spiraling into the abyss.
In the process, Shin Haru’s body and mind become battered. Despite her unparalleled righteousness, she suffers endlessly.
The day I realized I had entered this strange world, I made a promise to myself.
To alleviate some of Stardust, Shin Haru’s pains.
But, there lies a problem.
Just like the protagonist from a superhero story, the more Shin Haru faces hardship, the stronger she becomes.
As her spirit becomes worn, her power grows, and as her body endures, so does her strength.
A character like a tenacious weed, growing stronger through adversity.
But what’s crucial is that as I decide to eliminate the villains in her stead, the hardships begin to vanish.
Isn’t she supposed to be suffering? But because of me, she doesn’t.
If she does not endure hardships, she cannot become stronger.
And if she does not become stronger, things start to present issues.
As mentioned before, the original comic that shaped this world suffers from escalating power inflation as it progresses.
A South Korea that was once filled with moderately powerful heroes and villains eventually turns into a story of increasingly absurdly strong villains and a correspondingly overpowered Stardust.
Then there’s the USA. In this world, the USA is on the brink of chaos, being the #1 country in terms of S-rank hero assets and also home to the most S-rank villains.
