“Ugh…who are you people?”
“Shut up, if you don’t want to die, come out!! Move it, move it!!!”
Masked assailants had infiltrated the hotel under the cover of darkness. Using the elevators, they moved floor by floor, breaking into the rooms of sleeping guests and taking them hostage.
People were startled awake by guns pointed in their faces.
The intruders roughly pulled the people from their beds and herded them all down to the first floor.
“Is this the last floor?”
“Yeah, let’s hurry up and finish. Otherwise, the boss is going to be furious.”
Chaos reigned in the hallways.
Armed and yelling, the terrorists navigated the clamor of screaming hostages, continuing their mission to collect more from the remaining rooms.
As one of the terrorists was about to smash another door, his partner grabbed his arm to stop him and said,
“Wait, there’s something I’ve always wanted to try every time we bust into a place.”
“What’s that?”
“Just listen…”
Although the other terrorist laughed as if the idea was ridiculous, he indulgently replied,
“That’s absurd… But sure, why not? It’s somewhat of a man’s romantic fantasy. I’ll join you.”
“Thanks. So we’ll count to three. One, two… three!”
Together, they kicked the door in and shouted,
“FBI OPEN UP!!!”
As they advanced into the room, however, a drowsy man on the bed waved his hand once and, just like that, the butt of the assailants’ own guns flew into their heads, knocking them out cold.
It was an unexpected end.

“What the hell are these guys…?”
I rubbed my sleepy eyes and muttered to myself after waking up.
Suddenly there’s all this noise, and before I know it, two guys in masks are pointing guns at me.
Reacting in shock, I used telekinesis to control their guns and hit them in the head.
They dropped to the floor, confused by the surprise attack. What’s going on?
“Ugh…what’s happening?”
Subin and Seoeun, who’d been sleeping beside me, were finally waking up, too. I mean, what were we doing while all this chaos unfolded?
If you listened to the sounds around us without context, it would seem like the depths of hell. Screaming, crying, shouting, breaking, smashing, gunshots…
I had no choice but to say it like it was:
“Looks like we’re in the middle of a terrorist attack?”
Seriously, though.
I’m a guy who doesn’t swear often.
But this really is some f***ing bullshit, isn’t it?
What have I done to deserve this…?
I’ve only gone out twice, and both times something like this happens?
There are so many hotels in Busan!
Why! Why does this stuff only happen at the hotel I’m staying at?
As much as I think about it, it feels like the world is screwing with me.
I’m innocent. I mean, I haven’t exactly been a saint, but I live earnestly, I think.
Why! Why did God create me, Kim Dain, to endure such vile villains?
Dear God, please let me be a righteous villain today…
“Haaaah… Brother, what in the world is going on?”
Seoeun, who’d just woken up, looked around wearily. Her expression said it all: “Is something stupid happening again?” She didn’t even seem scared anymore. Has she gotten used to terrorism?
“Hold on, I’m going to check out the parking lot.”
And with that, I teleported swiftly to my car in the parking garage.
“Move it, move it!!”
“Pack up the stuff! Grab the weapons!”
The underground parking was a mess.
There were several military trucks filled with people wearing masks over their faces.
Rookie, stop. This is hell.
I was thinking of bringing Seoeun and Subin here if it looked safer, but that seems a bit risky. Meh.
I rummaged around.
First, I grabbed the essentials from the basket I’d brought.
A yellow mask that covered the whole face, check.
Wireless earphones and a connecting device. I need this to keep in communication with Seoeun even if we’re separated.
