We couldn’t afford to stay long and risk being discovered, so I quickly explained what was going on. “It seems like a terrorist attack is happening outside, with armed vehicles roaming the streets and helicopters flying around. It’s not looking good. So, for now, it’s best to stick close to me. Let’s pretend to be hostages and go downstairs.”
They nodded in agreement to my words. Who in the world woke me up from my sleep? Unforgivable. The person responsible is probably on the first floor. Ah, I just wanted to live a normal life. My hand gripped the gun tightly. Oh, this cool, heavy sensation. It’s been just two months. It’s time to return to my ‘villainous’ egoistic self.

The hallway outside the room was an absolute mess. Broken porcelain and active sprinklers were everywhere. “What are you doing? Move it!” A thug brandishing a gun barked at us.
“Ah yes, yes. We’re going,” I replied, feigning a subservient smile as I passed by him. “Hurry up or else…ugh!” The thug, still babbling, felt the butt of his own gun slam into his nose thanks to my telekinesis. He fell with a start. You talk too much.
Luckily, the chaos went unnoticed by others. The hostages emerging outside seemed completely out of their minds, which was to be expected. Who could have anticipated being dragged out of a hotel in their underpants in the middle of the night? Men, women, families, even a balding man—all sorts of people were being herded along.
This must be what they call an out-of-the-blue awakening. Eventually, we blended in with the other hostages and shuffled toward the elevator.
“Move to the stairs! Quickly, quickly!” The thugs were cramming people into the narrow stairwell.
…27 floors down the stairs? Seriously? I clenched my teeth at their heartless cruelty. First they wake us up from a peaceful sleep and now they want us to practically rock climb down?
They’ve signed their own death warrants. There’s just no way. Whispering to the two clinging to me, I said, “Hold tight.” And then, as nonchalantly as possible, I teleported.
It might be… a bit taxing, but there’s no helping it. Whoever has the time to climb down one step at a time? No one likely noticed our sudden disappearance. If they did see? They’ll probably just think they saw it wrong.

Only hours ago, this place echoed with the serene sound of classical music, with people engaged in elegant conversation. Now, the lobby had transformed into a scene straight out of a bustling fish market. This cathedral-like space was now packed with hostages sitting close together like sprouts in a bin, with masked thugs patrolling between them, guns in hand, creating a tense atmosphere in the dead of night.
