Baek Woojin lounged on the old, creaky armchair with the sun’s soft afternoon rays filtering through the window, casting a warm glow on the room’s wooden floor. Today’s agenda was simple: relaxation, and plenty of it. He turned the page of the novel in his hand, his eyes scanning the lines, but his mind was elsewhere.
Milk, his fluffy companion, purred contentedly on his lap, blissfully unaware of the turmoil stirring in Baek Woojin’s mind. For someone who had discovered the existence of a sub-space, a dimension beyond the ordinary, life was oddly mundane today.
He gently stroked Milk behind the ears, eliciting a gentle vibration from the cat’s throat. “Looks like you don’t have a single worry in the world, do you, Milk?”
In response, Milk merely closed his eyes tighter, sinking into the sensation of warm human touch and the silent hum of a peaceful abode.
Baek Woojin sighed and set aside his book. It was impossible to focus when his thoughts kept wandering back to the secrets and potential of the sub-space. If he was honest with himself, he craved another adventure, another delve into the unknown that could expand the horizons of his world.
He got up, the cat reluctantly sliding off his lap with a soft meow of protest. Baek Woojin walked to the window and stared out into the bustling street. People went about their business, rushing from place to place, completely oblivious to the layers of reality hidden just beyond their sight.
He chuckled to himself, thinking how life had taken such an incredible turn since stumbling upon the sub-space. What mundane tasks he had today could not compare to the exhilaration he found in that otherworldly place.
Milk mewled, beckoning Baek Woojin back from his reverie. Right, he thought. There’s a time for adventure, and there’s a time for the tranquility of everyday life. Balance was key, even when you had a secret as big as a sub-space tucked away in the back of your mind.
He picked up Milk and nestled back into the chair. “Life really is great,” he murmured with a smile. With or without the sub-space, he knew he had plenty to cherish. The sound of Milk’s purring, the warmth of the sun, and the comfort of a good book were reminders that greatness was often found in the simplest of things.
Today might not be a day for grand discoveries, but it was still a day to be embraced. Because every moment, whether ordinary or extraordinary, was a part of the grand tapestry that was his life. With a sub-space or not, Baek Woojin was determined to make the best of it.
