Chapter 14:
First, you must sow the seeds.
Of course, you cannot sow them on freshly tilled soil.
The reason we tilled the soil was to plant the seedlings we purchased along with the seeds.
If you ask why we tilled the soil first, it’s because it’s easier to finish the difficult task first.
Woojin took out the seedling seeding tray that he bought along with the seeds.
Since there were a lot of seeds to plant, the tray was small, only 200 of them.
He put topsoil in the tray and pressed it down from above with force.
By doing that, homes for putting seeds were created when each tray was taken out from the bottom, one by one.
[Cabbage Seed]
First, the cabbage seeds.
Put the seeds in each compartment appropriately, then cover them with topsoil to complete one tray.
Repeat this process for each tray.
[Red Pepper Seed]
We also did the same process for the red pepper seeds.
We completed all the trays like this.
Looking at the clock on his smartphone, it was already past midnight.
“Hyung, let’s go to sleep now.”
Milk was sleeping under the suho tree, and Kan was helping Woojin’s work with tired eyes.
“Just go to sleep.”
Unlike planting potatoes and sweet potatoes, seeding is the process of planting one seed at a time.
It would take a long time, so Woojin planned to put Kan and Milk to sleep, but Kan insisted on helping until the end.
“Hmph! I helped you until this point, you know?”
“Yeah. Thanks. Just finish up and go sleep. I’ll make something delicious for dinner later.”
“Really? Um, then I’ll go sleep…”
Only then did Kan go into the tent and fell asleep as if he had fainted.
Woojin, who was left alone, positioned the trays as close to the suho tree as possible, without encroaching on the field.
He reconfigured the coordinates and extended the water from the lake into the tray.
It would be beneficial for the growth since it’s the water favored by the fairies.
Woojin carefully sprinkled the water in the tray from the bowl with great attention, checking if there was any dry topsoil.
He also watered the suho tree as a final touch.
“I’ll leave it to you.”
Normally, it would take about 25 days for sowing.
Woojin hoped that the suho tree would work hard to shorten the time.
Soon after, Woojin fell into a deep sleep as well.
* * *
He slept for 8 hours.
When he woke up and checked his smartphone, it was already past 8 in the evening.
“Meow! Meow!”
Milk was crying in front of the camping box.
Woojin quickly went outside and fed Milk.
“Why are you like this? Are you hungry?”
He must have already brought Milk’s meal before he went out.
Looking at the food bowl, there was still some food left, so it seems like he ate well.
“Meow.”
Milk nuzzled Woojin’s chest.
“Did you worry about me not coming out until now?”
“Meow~”
A positive cry.
Cats don’t like it when their daily routine is disrupted.
Usually, they sleep at night and do activities with Milk from the morning.
Today, the day and night completely changed.
Woojin smiled apologetically while patting Milk on the head.
“I’m sorry. Milk, do you want some yogurt if you’ve eaten?”
“Meow!”
He couldn’t give snacks all day because he was working.
Woojin took out a yogurt from the cylinder and made it less sour before giving it to Milk.
“Chuak. Chuak.”
Milk held onto Woojin’s wrist as usual and licked the yogurt diligently.
When it was finished, Woojin gradually made it less sour to make it easier for Milk to eat.
As expected, Milk, who loves yogurt, finished one pack in an instant.
“You ate well.”
“Meoow~”
He asks for more endearingly.
Sorry, Milk, but you can’t have more.
“Milk, let’s drink some water.”
After taking in salt, it’s time to take in fluids.
Woojin poured a suitable amount of clean water into the water bowl.
“Chuak. Chuak.”
Good Milk obediently drank water without asking for more.
But wait, Kan has been sleeping all this time?
Woojin approached the entrance of the tent and opened it slightly.
“Umnya.”
