The decision was not easy, so Bendy chewed on her frustration. She secretly smiled as she watched the anxious Merfolk pacing back and forth. It was time to deliver the final blow that would end the Headmaster’s worries.
“Happy, let’s go,” Bendy said as she forcefully removed Happy’s saddle. But she was frustrated because the stubborn brown deer just stood there like a statue. No matter how hard she pulled on the saddle, Happy refused to move an inch.
Sighing, Bendy realized her plan to turn and leave, making the Headmaster restless, had failed.
“Bendy student,” the Headmaster called, startling Bendy. She casually turned her head, pretending to be unfazed.
Milane, the Headmaster, who was half nonchalant, took a sip of her cold tea. It was better to keep Bendy close, considering the volatile atmosphere filled with carnivorous shapeshifters in the school. Bendy’s position was strong enough to cover up any accidents that may happen.
“And you’re allowed to enroll…” Milane slowly closed her eyes and then opened them again. “Under the condition that you won’t create any trouble in the Department of Education.”
“Really?” Bendy exclaimed, clasping her hands together. “Thank you, Headmaster. I’ll quietly focus on my studies.”
“But,” Milane continued.
“…?” Bendy questioned, puzzled.
Milane glanced sharply at Bendy with her sharp eyes. Bendy wondered if she should hide her deer-like appearance with her white porcelain skin and robust physique. Maybe even her deer-like behavior should be kept hidden as well.
Milane waved her hand dismissively in front of Bendy’s face.
“Your face.”
“My face…?” Bendy repeated, confused.
“Yes, your face.”
Bendy nervously caressed her cheek.
Milane took out a thin bracelet from her drawer. It was a magical tool that could change her appearance.
“Let’s start by changing your face.”
Meanwhile, Bendy’s assistant, Western, frustratingly slammed down a report with no income. They had searched and disrupted all the territories of herbivorous shape-shifters such as the sheep, the goat, the capybara, and even the rabbit. But there was no trace of Bendy Reppy, as if she had disappeared into thin air.
“Bendy Reppy…” Western muttered with frustration. He then threw a vase against the wall in anger.
“Where did she disappear to!” he exclaimed.
It was unimaginable that she could disappear overnight, especially when she had been obediently following Western’s orders all this time. She even managed to break free from the restraint he had made himself. This meant Bendy Reppy’s power had reached an advanced level.
“I have no idea!” Western sighed, massaging his temples.
He couldn’t understand what was happening. In theory, Bendy Reppy had slightly better skills than ordinary people when it came to practical magic.
“Damn it!” Western cursed.
He couldn’t find any skilled person who would help Bendy escape, and there were no employees left in the mansion either.
Just as he let out a frustrated sigh, someone knocked on his office door.
“Lord Western, may I come in?” the butler cautiously asked, opening the door.
Western glanced at the broken vase and then reluctantly spoke.
“What is it?”
“The household with whom Bendy had a secret conversation has contacted us,” the butler said.
Western frowned when he heard about this sensitive matter. They had been avoiding contact until now because they had no idea where Bendy Reppy was.
With a heavy heart, Western asked, “What do they want?”
“They are giving us three more months,” the butler replied.
