The Shapeshifter Academy: Chapter 16

The Secretary of the Headmaster glanced back at Bendy, who often walked at my pace.
After the commencement speech, Headmaster Milane immediately summoned Bendy to his office.
The Secretary’s estimation was closer to the latter, perhaps due to the slip of the tongue during the formal speech, or maybe because of concerns about Bendy becoming the student council president.
The Secretary, who was absentmindedly eyeing him, unnecessarily called Bendy over.
“Bendy?”
“Yes, please speak.”
“No, it’s nothing.”
Fortunately, Bendy seemed completely unconcerned about the earlier mistake.
The relieved Secretary walked down the hallway with lighter steps.
“The Headmaster is waiting for you.”
Finally, the footsteps of the two people stopped in front of the Headmaster’s office.
Curious about why she was called, Bendy discreetly peeked her head out from behind the Secretary.
Through the slightly open door, she saw the Headmaster and a man who seemed to be her peer.
Bendy, who was perplexed, blinked her eyes in confusion.
‘Who is he?’
The man was wearing a loose beige sweater, which appeared to be a type of knitwear provided by the academy.
That was the only guess Bendy could make, assuming that he was a student at the academy.
As he smiled, his multicolored eyes shimmered softly, and his shiny silver hair swayed along with his movements.
He seemed like a pretty student, almost like a doll.
Meanwhile, as Headmaster Milane returned to his office from the square, he couldn’t hide his despondent feelings.
“Ha…”
A while ago, Bendy Reppy, who had gotten up on the podium, gave a splendid speech.
A single speech that turned carnivorous merfolk into deer.
Not only the students, but even the professors burst into laughter, rendering it impossible to continue with a proper formal speech afterward.
Only the Headmaster and the Secretary, who knew the truth, were sweating coldly and in a state of frenzy.
“…Lennen.”
Headmaster Milane’s trembling gaze lingered on the man lying on the couch.
“Lennen, stop laughing.”
“…”
“You slow fool! How can you be laughing at a time like this?”
“Ah-”
The man, who barely managed to sit up, adjusted his posture. Then, he sternly gazed at the crowd, as if giving a speech, clenching his fists.
“Ladies and gentlemen, herbivores.”
Headmaster Milane, who was about to spew out saliva, hurriedly covered his mouth and turned his head. The slightly visible side profile of his face showed his bushy eyebrows sticking out.
“No…”
Without changing his bewildered expression, the man continued his speech, sweetly touching his chest with his trembling hand.
“You, all of you, are carnivorous merfolk. And I am not a deer, but a fox.”
Huff. Eventually, Headmaster Milane couldn’t resist bursting into laughter, collapsing onto the desk.
The man, laughing one after another, also covered his mouth with both hands and fell onto the couch.
Crackling. They didn’t notice the approaching presence, as they were too busy laughing uncontrollably.
The inexperienced Secretary frantically covered Bendy’s ears with both hands, but it was already too late.
“Be-Bendy Hapdo, when did you come?”
Thinking that Bendy’s sudden appearance was just a joke, Headmaster Milane lightly scolded the man and cleared his throat to change the mood.
But Bendy, with a growl like a wild beast, was already wearing an expression that perfectly suited the carnivorous merfolk inside her.
‘Oh dear…’
Flickering her eyes, the Secretary glanced at her, her worries deepening.
Not only was she a merfolk, but the poorly fitting uniform also added to her anxiety.
To think that the power of the student council president would pass to a freshman who had only been admitted for about a month.
Headmaster Milane, who reluctantly lowered his eyebrows that were rising on their own, spoke up.
“Congratulations on becoming the student council president. You will have to work hard for a year.”
“Anyone can find a replacement for me. You know that, Headmaster.

The Shapeshifter Academy

The Shapeshifter Academy

The Shapeshifter Academy, where only carnivore shapeshifters attend.

If there is only one exception in that place,

“…I don’t taste good.”

It was me, the herbivore deer, Bendy Reppy.

I planned to quietly endure until graduation by hiding the fact that I’m a deer, pretending to be a fox, but.

“This year’s student council president is, Bendy Reppy.”

Ah.

No matter how I see it, I think it’s hopeless to graduate quietly.

Hiding my identity, avoiding the carnivore shapeshifters’ fangs, and even doing the Student Council President’s work, I’m so busy to death, but,

“Now, I think it would be a bit of a bummer if the President dies.”

I ended up getting involved with the fool white tiger, who’s crazy,

“It wasn’t long ago when I act annoyingly, saying that I’ll prey on you.”

The troublemaker wolf who feeds off of his own pride,

“Touch me.”

And even a real lion who abruptly asks me to touch him.

The Shapeshifter Academy in which they say that herbivore shapeshifters can’t survive.

“President, you look exactly like that.”

“….”

“A deer.”

I, surely should be able to graduate without getting caught, right?
