Hardworking Billing Knight Episode 1
Chapter 1. Logout in 20 years in this other world?
“Lord, it’s time for you to cough.”
I woke up at the calm voice.
I got up from my bed and did some light stretching. Han Youngja handed me a washbowl she was holding. After washing my face lightly and drying it with a towel that was hanging on Flower’s shoulder, another maid handed me the clothes she had prepared.
“What’s the schedule?”
“The top merchants have requested an audience during the ceremony. And in the afternoon, there is training with the soldiers.”
“Ah, so today is when Mark Top comes.”
After receiving Han Youngja’s grooming, I took the last Bastard Sword and headed out of the carriage house.
“Good night, my lord.”
“Good morning, my lord.”
The gardeners who were tending the garden and the servants cleaning the Lord’s mansion took off their caps and bowed. I nodded briefly and headed to my office.
The day before my discharge. Without knowing any English, I had fallen into this medieval land and before I knew it, 20 years had passed.
And during those 20 years, the dark-haired stranger who had fallen naked became a lord of a region.
“It was tough.”
The process was truly eventful.
I killed all the nobles who were hunting down commoners and led the peasants who were their prey into the mountains.
The peasants who were hiding in the mountains out of fear of taxes and the lords who couldn’t withstand the looting of their domains. I gathered together the fugitives who were hated by the authorities and made a living in the forest.
I defeated the regular army that came to subdue us several times by training my subordinates.
I formed a mercenary unit and participated in the territorial battles, fighting on the battlefield alone and beheading the enemy commanders.
And finally, I received the noble title and the territory.
“It was a long journey.”
But as a result, I could become the idol of all the commoners in the kingdom and the symbol of success.
I could become a thorn in the eyes of the nobles and a disgrace to the lords.
The Black Lion of the Kilian Mountains.
A Bronze Sword Viscount.
That is the name that refers to me in this world.
“He looks young. He must be around the age of twenty even though he’s forty.”
“His imposing presence is extraordinary.”
“Is the author the Black Lion of the Kilian Mountains?”
“I didn’t expect a barbarian to obtain a territory.”
As I sharpened my senses and listened, voices of discussion could be heard, but they quickly quieted down as soon as I sat on the throne.
I looked down at the man in front of them.
“Yeah, it’s been a while.”
“I knew you were a great warrior, but… to obtain a territory with a foreigner’s body. I can’t help but admire you.
No matter what achievements you make, I thought the nobles would ignore you.”
“If you have a sharp mind, there’s nothing that can be done about it.”
I smiled and asked.
“By the way, what brings you all the way to this border region?”
“As you can imagine, it’s because of the Dragon Vein.”
This place, Ardenia, is a continent made up of a massive landmass. It may seem ordinary so far, but there is a slightly peculiar aspect.
The shape of the continent is a perfect square. It’s even marked by lines.
“It’s artificial.”
This world looks like a chessboard, and there are perfectly straight lines (usually made up of rivers or mountain ranges).
And those lines are also Ley Lines where the energy of the land flows.
Ley Lines themselves possess tremendous power.
