This is the scene.
The one I so desperately wanted to direct.
The other film I saw before I possessed a body in this world.
The best scene from the movie where the bat-man battles the clown.
The choice of the two boats at midnight.
Although, in that scenario, it was between a prisoner’s boat and a pleasure cruise, and the background was night.
I couldn’t recreate that scene exactly due to adult circ*mstances.
Where would you even find a prisoner’s boat in Seoul?
Even though this comic is about superheroes flinging powers around, the setting is fundamentally Seoul, South Korea, so there’s no such thing as a prisoner’s boat.
I did worry that the dramatic tension might suffer a bit because of that.
Well, there are other ways to handle that.
Ha, but honestly, this was a pain to set up.
Firstly, unlike back then, this world has smartphones distributed everywhere, so I have to block all transmissions.
Then, there are so many minor heroes in this small country that I need to prevent them from interfering.
The life of a villain isn’t easy.
Anyway… Let’s see, are they still fighting?
Yes, boat number one is still at it.
Just as planned.
Now, what about boat number two?
“Please raise your hand if you think you have to press the button.”
Hmm… people are closing their eyes and raising their hands.
The captain is there, counting.
What is this? It’s not like we’re electing a class president.
Oh. I’m getting a bit dizzy.
No matter my intentions, this is rather absurd.
Taking my eyes off the beam projector, I turned to look at Stardust, who was at a distance beside me.
Still with a stern face, she remained focused on the screen.
Wow.
But.
She really is beautiful.
The protagonist of the comic [Stardust!], Stardust.
One of the few hero comics drawn by a South Korean artist.
And the first to be commercially successful among Korean superhero comics.
Stardust. Real name Shin Haru.
Hair shining with luster as if it were imbued with starlight.
A tight-fitting red latex suit clinging to her whole body.
And an unbelievably gorgeous face, unreal.
Wow, really, uh…
Maybe seeing my favorite character in real life has given me rose-colored glasses, but…
Just having seen her in the flesh alone, I’m ready to die happy…
Of course, it’s not yet time to die.
Oops, have I stared too long?
She has started glaring at me.
“…. Do you think you’ll get away with this?”
Her voice is also pretty.
Cough, time to bury those thoughts and get back to business.
I addressed her as cheerfully as I could manage.
“What an upsetting thing to say. Honestly, did I ever tell the people on the boat to push the button and kill each other? No, I just gave them a detonator, and they’re causing a fuss about pressing it themselves..”
Saying this, I grinned sheepishly.
In reality, I did release people there to manipulate the situation, so my conscience pricks me a bit.
But if I’m not caught, no one knows, so it doesn’t matter! Right.
Stardust still appears stiff.
I decided to toss another comment her way.
“In fact, I have a tremendous personal interest in you, Stardust. From what I’ve seen, you’re quite the exemplary hero.”
Her gaze whipped around to me as if to say, ‘What are you talking about?’
Maybe I should say a little more.
“That interview where you said every human being has the courage in their heart to sacrifice themselves. Wow… truly a famous quote. When I heard that, I stood up from my seat and clapped, didn’t I?”
Here, I should smile once more.
After smiling for a second or two, I continued.
Then, with a snap of my fingers.
Coinciding with the snap, lights installed behind us suddenly illuminated her.
While she squinted against the abrupt brightness, I continued speaking.
“That’s why this time, I’ll offer you an opportunity.”
“Can you, Stardust, change those selfish people?”
As soon as I said that, the camera was switched on again.
Now, the broadcast would switch from the cruise ship to show us here.
Everyone across the nation, including the passengers, would see this scene unfold.
“Yes, about 20 minutes have passed now.”
