I’m trapped in a cube :- Chapter 3: The Great Camp Battle

Chapter 3: Camp Confusion

“Humans?”

Mo Ling perked up and observed everything within his view intently.

As the cart moved forward, Mo Ling caught glimpses of terrifying scenes along the way.

He was transported to the camp of the black little people.

The ground was covered with totem poles adorned with spike-covered vines and white bones.

Those were human bones!

Mo Ling would not mistake it.

Not only on the totem poles, but white bones also emerged faintly from the gravel in the little people’s camp. Some even wore human clothes.

Looking down.

Beneath the camp were piles of bones, indicating how many humans had been killed there.

“No wonder they’re saying humans are going to attack.”

Mo Ling thought to himself.

He needed to find a way to contact the humans here to rescue him.

The further the cart went, the more little people appeared, and the stronger the smell of blood became.

The two little people pulling the cart carelessly tossed the metal block against the wall, then picked up weapons and climbed up the wooden city wall.

The wall was crowded with little people holding various long-range weapons.

A little person who seemed to be a wizard held a broom and kept smearing mud on its handle.

The mud seeped into the handle, and the broom bristles shot outwards like needles, quickly disappearing from Mo Ling’s sight.

“What kind of weapon is this?”

Before he could take a closer look, a large shield shot into Mo Ling’s view from outside the city wall.

The broom needles launched by the wizard were all deflected by the shield.

The burly man behind the shield bent low and steadily advanced, protecting his companions behind him.

This group was dressed in thick combat suits, carrying toolkits, with broad belts around their waists, equipped with various tactical gear.

The little people on the wall tried everything to break through the defense, but all attacks were blocked by the large shield.

The burly man reached the front of the wall, and with a powerful shove, the solid wooden door shattered.

The group entered one by one, clashing with the little people.

The burly man held the shield in his left hand and reached into his toolkit with his right, pulling out a blood bag and smashing it against the shield.

As the blood bag exploded, the shield melted like a candle, forming into a long spear.

He grasped it and swung it, sweeping away a swath of little people.

His movements were extremely smooth, causing Mo Ling to click his tongue in amazement.

“Another strange weapon.”

At this moment, a girl led a group of little people to the metal block, using it to engage in a circuitous battle.

Right then, Mo Ling felt a rush of excitement and wanted to show off his skills.

Aiming at the little people around the girl, he focused his thoughts.

In an instant, the heads of over a dozen little people were separated from their bodies and fell to the ground.

Looking at their heads again, Mo Ling had randomly thrown them elsewhere.

The remaining few little people hurriedly retreated, stumbling out of Mo Ling’s view.

The girl widened her eyes in shock and fear, staring at the metal block.

Suddenly, as if she thought of something, she quickly took out all the items she carried and placed them on the metal block.

Seeing this, Mo Ling suddenly recalled the previous little people and made a connection, coming up with an idea.

“Are they offering sacrifices to me?”

With a try-it-and-see mentality, Mo Ling selected a can of food the girl had taken out and transported it into his space.

Seeing the can disappear, the girl visibly let out a sigh of relief, her frightened expression disappearing.

Did I guess right? Mo Ling felt a surge of joy in his heart.

The girl walked to the front of the cart, and with a strong push, her seemingly petite body moved the cart swiftly into the battle scene.

“The girl has great strength!”

Mo Ling praised inwardly and then turned his attention to the fighting little people.

Wherever the cart went, the black little people in combat fell like weeds.

Heads vanished into thin air, leaving mirror-like cuts on their necks, blood gushing out.

On the ground not far away, heads with confused expressions suddenly appeared.

Such a bizarre sight caused chaos among the black little people, and they lost the will to fight.

In the end, they even avoided the girl, abandoning their armor and fleeing upon seeing the cart approach.

The group pursued the victory and soon occupied the camp.

Seeing the situation settled, the girl panted and sat down beside the metal block.

Crystalline beads of sweat trickled down her hair and onto her slender neck.

A silver-white, brand-new metal nameplate necklace clung to her sun-kissed skin, glistening with sweat.

“Level 1 Hunter, Li Luo.”

Another strange text, but Mo Ling could still understand it.

As he observed, the burly man walked over, only then did Mo Ling notice a similar but more ornate necklace hanging around the man’s neck.

“Level 2 Hunter, Shape-Changing Shield Du Kang.”

The content on the nameplate was distinctly different, and it even included a title.

The burly man stopped in front of the girl and reprimanded sternly, “You were too reckless.”

The girl did not respond and just lowered her head.

The burly man patted the metal block, cautiously asking the girl, “What is the price for this thing?”

The girl named Li Luo took out a can and Mo Ling understood, bringing the can into his space.

“Food?” The burly man was visibly surprised.

Li Luo nodded.

The burly man’s tone softened considerably, “Lucky you. I’ll arrange someone to register it. Don’t leave the team without permission next time.”

After saying that, the burly man walked towards the crowd.

Listening to their conversation, Mo Ling also had a speculation in his heart.

“Price, is it the thing they need to pay to use these items?”

The broom that required mud, the shield that needed blood, and the sacrificial behavior of the little people and the girl before.

“They regard the metal block as one of those strange weapons?” Mo Ling suddenly realized.

Fortunately, by sheer luck, they happened to consider “food” as the price to use the metal block, not something stranger.

“At least I won’t go hungry for a while.”

Before long, a recorder carrying various high-tech instruments approached and routinely questioned Li Luo before rummaging through his bag.

He took out a device like a hairdryer and started scanning the metal block, then brought out an electronic screen.

Mo Ling watched the scanner expectantly, hoping it would detect him trapped inside the metal block.

However, the recorder did not notice anything unusual and began operating on the electronic screen.

After searching for a while, the recorder asked, “Li Luo, this relic is discovered for the first time. Do you want to name it?”

Li Luo shook her head, “I’m not good at naming.”

“This is a rare opportunity. You earned it, give it a try.” The team member encouraged her with a smile.

Thinking for a moment, Li Luo looked at the metal block and seriously answered, “Iron Block.”

The recorder’s smile froze.

“Can’t you come up with a cooler name? Like, Deadly Cube, Fatal Square, Interdimensional Kill Box? And…”

Li Luo stared at the recorder as he spat out various flamboyant names.

Feeling unnerved by her gaze, the recorder compromised, “Alright, Iron Block it is.”

He continued operating, and the electronic screen began displaying text:

[Relic: Iron Block]

[Price: Food]

[Ability: Cubic stripping of enemies’ bodies within range]

[Discovery Location: Abyss First Layer]

[Discoverer: Li Luo]
