Shut-in home hero: Chapter 3

"Never did I ever think that I would witness my own intestines with my own eyes… my stomach feels like it’s hurting…"

Let me tell you what happened to me just a while ago. As soon as I returned from the space where I met God, I entered a mysterious alternate dimension. And the next moment, my body felt like it was being twisted and torn apart like a candy from a manufacturing factory, and my large intestine came out of my body. But before feeling any pain, my whole body lit up… and before I knew it, I had arrived in a mysterious space. …And somehow, I was shirtless.

Yes, I am currently in what was likely my house. It’s been about thirty minutes since I arrived here, so the search of the house is over. There are several things I have managed to grasp by now. First, this house is similar to my home, but it is not exactly my home. As evidence, when looking out from the balcony, there was only darkness and pitch-black all around, such that even a little further could not be seen. Perhaps this place is some sort of special space. The house is stocked with a variety of food, and upon testing, the lifelines for electricity, gas, and water are functioning. However, there is no internet connection, so I cannot watch videos or read online novels.

Currently, the food stored at home includes about thirty kilograms of unwashed rice, a large amount of frozen meats and seafood, as well as a bunch of very cheap rolls and expired retort food items that my mother had bought in bulk. My father was into paying taxes for our hometown, and my mother was the type to shop at a certain membership supermarket a lot, so at least for a while, we shouldn’t have trouble with food. With what we have, we could probably last for a year… or even two if we ration it. Although, I am worried about the expiration dates.

But this is a world of magic, so if it’s said that anything goes, then so be it… it’s like having everything you need. I have gained a certain mental composure to think about various things. Oh, come to think of it, I was so focused on checking the house that I haven’t checked my status yet. "Status open"…

Kakuno Katsu
LV 1
HP: 120/120
MP: 102/120
Attack: 25
Defense: 45
Magic Attack: 78
Magic Resistance: 58
Agility: 20
Gift: ‘Home’ LV 1
Skills: Light Magic LV 1, Fire Magic LV 1, Water Magic LV 1, Earth Magic LV 1, Thunder Magic LV 1, Space-Time Magic LV 3

This is… strong, right? If you think of it like a game, the stats at LV 1 seem high, but given that we were summoned as heroes, if you look at the whole first year group, we might be at the bottom in terms of ability… that could also be the case. However, it’s pretty amazing to have already acquired magic skills in six elements. Especially, as for Space-Time magic, it has already leveled up to 3. Moreover, my MP is already decreasing. Could it be that just being inside the ‘Home’ gift consumes MP? If that’s the case, it’s a problem. This area needs further investigation.

"However, even if you have magic skills, how should you use them… is this how you use it?" At the moment I wished to use fire magic, the way to handle magic naturally came to me as if I already knew how it was done. Because it wouldn’t be a good idea to use magic inside the house, I decided to aim outside from the balcony. "Fireball! Water Bullet! Earth Lance! Lightning!" I tried casting LV 1 magic… but nothing happened. And it seemed my MP hadn’t decreased either. Could it be that magic cannot be used in this space? "Fireball! Fireball! Fireball! Fireball!" I tried frantically pressing the same magic, but there was no change at all. It seems that magic cannot be used inside the house. Well, it’s probably because the house is too convenient, so it’s natural to have some kind of restriction…

The rest of the text has been omitted due to character limitations.
