The Grandson of a Chaebol Family who sees Misfortune: Chapter 2 Part 2

“If you stay here, you’ll think your grandmother is giving you an allowance.”
“Grandma…”
“Hurry!”
With disappointed eyes, the two granddaughters looked at Kim Dae-hwan, who was watching all of this from the second floor.
However, there was no pity or regret in Kim Dae-hwan’s gaze.
Indifferent.
He just quietly looked down from the second floor, with a smile on his face as if he enjoyed this sight.
“Mom… Let’s go.”
Since it seemed like Kim Dae-hwan wouldn’t help either, his daughter, who was standing by his side, turned and took her still crying mother with her.
Kim Seok-ho silently watched the three women leaving.
They were the ones who had never received this treatment when Kim Dae-hwan’s eldest son was alive.
They were the people who lived with Kim Dae-hwan at the Cheongwoon-dong house and believed that they would become the future owners of this place without any doubt.
However, when Kim Dae-hwan’s eldest son left the world, they lost everything without hesitation, just like a loose thread.
“At that time, I didn’t understand.”
Kim Seok-ho looked around the living room, where the folding screens, ancestral ritual mats, incense, and candles, along with the ancestral tablet, had all been cleared away.
The people who had been standing solemnly just a while ago were now smiling and talking, as if nothing had happened.
When Kim Seok-ho was 15 years old, he couldn’t understand this sight.
It seemed so strange to him that nobody held onto the person who had just been his brother-in-law and sister-in-law until recently, and that they were just watching them being chased away.
However, as he grew older, he came to understand the reason.
Kim Dae-hwan’s eldest son was not born through Jo Yang-suk.
He was the child of Kim Dae-hwan’s first love, who he couldn’t marry because of his family’s opposition.
So, it could be said that he only inherited half of the bloodline from the people in the living room right now.
Even though it was only half, when he was alive, nobody dared to mistreat his wife and daughters in front of him as the son of Kim Dae-hwan.
Instead, they hesitated to even look at them, knowing that they didn’t know what rebellion they might face.
That was because he inherited Kim Dae-hwan’s blood, which also showed a ruthless and cruel aspect in terms of business.
But now that the strong support was gone, there was no need to be cautious anymore.
Unless Kim Dae-hwan looked back, there was no reason for him to consider a common widow and single mother who was not even a prestigious daughter-in-law.
If there had been a son, not just daughters, the story might have been different.
The title of Kim Dae-hwan’s eldest grandson would have had more weight than the title of a son.
However, unfortunately, there were only two daughters, so his sister-in-law, who was also his eldest sister-in-law, had no choice but to become a loose thread and fall to the ground.
Kim Seok-ho felt a sense of disgust at their attitude, which easily changed as if flipping over the palm of their hands.
The sight of Kim Dae-hwan’s eldest grandson and his granddaughters being chased away through the door made Kim Seok-ho recall the memory of when he himself was chased away.

“Hey, nephew.”
After the memorial service, Kim Seok-ho’s father, Kim Woo-jae, approached him. Kim Woo-jae was Kim Dae-hwan’s second son and Kim Dae-hwan’s third son, Kim Sang-jae’s older brother.
“I heard you got hurt?”
Kim Sang-jae, with his hands clenched, moved his fists around like shadow boxing and said.
“I heard you fell down after taking a punch to your jaw. Are you okay now?”
Kim Seok-ho momentarily suppressed his desire to punch Kim Sang-jae’s jaw, which he repeatedly moved his fists towards, and answered.
“Yes, I’m fine now.”
“You were lying down for three days?”
Continuing to ask even though he said he was fine, Kim Sang-jae swung his fists alternately.
“Have you heard that the one who controls the left hook controls the world? That’s important. The left hook.”
