Absolute Regression: Chapter 2 Part 4

His fervent wish is to return to the past.
“Please let me go back.”
“To do what?”
“To kill those who need to be killed and to save those who should not die.”
The first task is to kill the evil and save everyone.
And there is another task of equal importance.
“And… I want to live my life properly. Perhaps the reason I want to go back so desperately is not only because of my anger towards the evil but also because I regret my life.”
“What do you regret so much?”
“Everything. From birth until now, my life has not been led by me but has been pushed by something else. Being pushed here and there, and then it just ended… Are you the one who pushed me?”
The old man asked with an awkward smile.
“After you’ve completed your revenge, what kind of life do you want to live?”
“I don’t know. Whether I will follow in my father’s footsteps to become a great demon, live quietly away from the world, become a womanizer who takes all the beauties of the world, leave the sect to beat up worthless scum, or become trash myself… I haven’t decided anything.”
“I’m curious about what kind of life you will lead. I look forward to that new life.”
“Thank you.”
“Let’s have a drink the next time we meet.”
With those words, the old man disappeared.
‘Next time?’
He had a premonition that the old man might appear before him again someday.
At the same time, the stopped time began to flow again. The halted butterfly fluttered its wings and flew in the sky, the grass swayed in the wind, and the tears of the ghost that had been suspended in the air fell to the ground.
“I’m sorry. Really.”
The man silently watched the ghost shedding tears of apology. He could never have dreamed that his great law was connected to the will of heaven, a great law indeed. The final decision would be made by heaven, but at least the ghost’s great law was undoubtedly a medium that connected to heaven.
The ghost pleaded with an anxious face.
“Ah! It’s a shameless request, but please don’t forget the promise you made with me! You have to stop my marriage!”
The man chuckled. Even at his old age, facing death, he was making the same request.
“Still in hell?”
“A hotter hell indeed. I’m ashamed to ask, but please, I beg you. If you don’t listen to me until the end, I’ll tear you apart.”
“That bad?”
“Worse than that.”
“Good. Then it will be enough punishment for trying to betray me, so experience that hell once more.”
“Ah! Please, no!”
The man walked towards the light, leaving the wailing ghost behind.
As the light that embraced him began to scatter brilliantly, the ghost was overwhelmed with emotion, but what he really wanted to say was this.
“I want to go too! Aaaaaah! I want to go!”
